Bratwurst Chili

8 hours of time for crockpotting
1 pack of brats (preferably home-made or as close as you can get to it - they will be better seasoned)
2 cloves garlic diced
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
2 chili spice packets (no joke, the save-a-lot ones are best)
1 dried chipotle
1 handful chopped dried cherries
2 chopped jalapenos or 1 can chiles
Salt
Pepper
Cumin

Pour all of the above ingredients into a crock pot. Turn your crockpot on the 8 hour setting. About an hour before serving, break apart the sausages (if they haven't fallen apart) and season again (to taste). We love it on top of homemade mashed potatoes, but they make amazing chili cheese fries too.
