Christmas Bon Bons

1/2 c butter
3/4 c sifted powdered sugar
1 TBSP vanilla
1 1/2 c flour
1/8 tsp salt

Fillings (dates, chocolates, nuts)

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla.  Blend in flour and salt. If dry, add cream.  Mixture should resemble pie crust dough.  Pick up a piece of filling (date, nut, chocolate), and form a 1" ball of dough around it (Maybe a tablespoon of the crumbly mixture).  Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

To finish the cookies, use one of the following methods:

  • Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar
  • Cool cookies and frost the tops
  • Dip in dipping chocolate
  • Dip in ganache
Makes 20-25 cookies
